"My inspiration is the light that constantly transforms the mood and drama of the landscape," says Georgine. "People who buy my landscape paintings are usually Vermonters and our visitors who want a little bit of Vermont to remember. I give them a painting that is a story about a place."
Gerorgine's portrait career began long before she moved to Vermont. While she was still an art student in New York, she drew pastels for shoppers in Bloomingdales. That led to commissions from an art gallery. Now, she paints portraits from photographs she takes.
She describes herself as a contemporary, realistic portrait and landscape painter. One visitor who signed her guest book described her pastels as breathing "life and peace."
Georgine lives in Dorset with her husband Steve, a custom furniture maker.
